Welcome to RSBattle (RSB), we are glad you decided to join this game, and we always welcome in new members. To start off, we will try to give you a short but sweet introduction into the game, made by our very own player, Samuelkyl.
Quick Tutorial to Playing RSBattle:
RSB is an online text RPG (role playing game). There are links to click to traverse this world. In the new version, there will be a 2D system where players will be able to walk around in a fully immersive enviroment.
The main thing a new player should get used to is the "View Map" link, located under your characters picture to the left of the page, under your Hitpoints and Actions bars. Click on that link.
A window should pop up, with a 3D looking map of RSB. We will get into the details of each one later, but the first and most important area on that map is Downtown (with a picture of a beer, located near the middle, slightly to the left). In the downtown section is where you get required items for skills.
Once Downtown is clicked, the main window will change to show a list of stores. Specialty shop is where you want to go right now. Inside that shop, there are misc. equipment such as pickaxes, fishing poles, knives and such, which are required to perform skills.
Once you have decided on training a skill and bought the corresponding equipment, you can wear it by going to "Equip & Unequip W/A" under your Player Options! Click on the link next to your equipment to use it, and you'll also see it on your character picture to the left as equipped!
There are the forums in this game, a player chat, player marketplaces, a trade system, guilds to join, and lots of other things! In-game, an exciting part is the quests, in-which you could complete as you level up your character. There are some quests that may take you hours trying to come up with an answer to the riddle, and there will be some that will barley take you anytime at all.
Now, I'll give a brief explanation of the following areas in the game, please look below to see all of them.
Map Locations:
Palace of Estharia: Quest Location, must be in process of the quest to enter.
Guild Canyon: Join a guild and gain 10% more xp as there will be extra xp donated to a guild pool while training to be distributed as the leader/co-leader pleases!
Mage Arena: Train your Magic here (Requires runes, PM Samuelkyl requesting an air staff for 50k gp store price for unlimited air runes [The Air Staff is a members-only item to purchase, but can be traded by any member who buys one to any player whom does not have membership])!
Combat Grounds: Go beat up those monsters with weapons and armor you have gained with your hard earned money.
Smelting Furnace: Turn your ores into bars here!
Forging Anvils: Turn your bars into equipment here! Requires a Hammer (Forging is not very cost-efficient, ores are often worth more than equipment made).
Quest Tower: Start and proceed with your quests here (Doric's Dilemma allows you to buy higher grade pickaxes and hatchets after completion of quest)! All quest items have to be acquired by yourself through the respective skill, not bought from other players, in order for the quest requirement to be fulfilled.
Mining Field: Mine your ores here! Requires a Pickaxe.
Fletching Shed: Practice your Fletching here! Requires a Knife for some.
Bone Shrine: Bury your bones and gain prayer experience for a boost in your combat stats in the combat grounds/wilderness/and duels!
Amalthea: The areas in this section are for members-only.
Archery Targets: Train your bow and arrow skills here (you can use a bow, which is stringed in Jaril's Store in downtown, along with your arrows, for increased damage/xp)!
Chefs Range: You can cook food you have found or have gotten yourself here.
Fishing Docks: Fish with your net, fishing pole, or harpoon here to catch an abundance of different fish.
Player Marketplace: Browse other player's markets for goods to purchase, or make your own!
Agility Course: Increase the amount of actions you have here for longer training times without resting!
RuneStone Altar: Craft your runes here!
Dark Woods: Chop wood with your hatchet, burn with a tinderbox, or cook with both wood and food here!
The Wilderness: Be warned, the Wilderness is not a safe-place at all. You can die and loose equipment in here if you are attacked by another player! It is suggested that if you would like to explore the wilderness, then un-equip all of your items before you travel into there. However, you start off in a safe-zone, and can only be attacked if you're within the level of the wilderness that is equal or evens out to the players whom want to attack you (example: You travel to level 50, and are level 1 - that means that anyone who is upto level 51 can attack you, and below, however, anyone above 51 will not be able to). Also, be sure to read the instructions before traveling into the wilderness.
